2015 Event Previous Theme: Spark

We chose Spark as our theme, because we believe that it is truly an integral part of many things. A spark can start a huge fire, and we loved the idea of something small igniting something huge.

From small beginnings, come great things.

2015 Event Previous Speakers

Dr. Amos Lyso -

Doctor Amos Lyso was born into a traveling family, and has been wandering all over the world for a lot of his life, seeing different lifestyles and cultures. He had already been to over 30 countries before even turning 18, including places like Indonesia, West Africa, Korea, and the US.

After finishing College at 22, Doctor Lyso started teaching in the Philippines. While there, he donated money to the Kids International Ministries, an organisation started by a simple question from a 7-year old girl: “Why can’t we do something more for the street kids?”

Growing up his brick home in Africa, Dr. Lyso was acutely aware of his privileged position, compared to the lives of families with only straw huts for shelter.

What lessons does Dr. Lyso have to share?

Dr. Lyso has always wanted to show others how much they have compared to less privileged people. With his experiences around the world, he has gained great insight into the topic of privilege.

Dr.Lyso tells us about what prevents people from doing more to help, and about the many differences we can make.
